Medusa

Medusa is a Gorgon — a predatory, humanoid monster whose hair is a writhing mass of serpents and whose gaze turns the living to stone. Field notes: smell of cold metal and stone-dust, with a faint ozone tang as if lightning had just passed; sound is a low chorus of wet hisses, the soft rasp of scales and an unnerving silence that falls like a shutter when she focuses; temperature around her registers noticeably cool, as though the air itself hardens near her. In habitat, the margins are littered with newly formed statues and the flattened impressions of things that once moved; approach with care and instruments at the ready.
