Lore
Ziz is a colossal Cryptid of the sky—a celestial bird whose wingspan is said to eclipse the sun. Field notes: feathers shimmer with an iridescent spectrum, shifting from sky blue to storm grey. Smell: ozone and crisp mountain air. Sound: a piercing cry that echoes across continents, signaling the changing of seasons. Temperature: brings a sudden chill of high altitude or the warmth of distinct sunlight. Field notes: rarely lands, but when it does, it crushes forests; its egg alone is a legend of fragility and potential disaster.

Observations
- Sudden, unexplained eclipses and gale-force winds from a clear sky often herald Ziz's flight overhead.
Encounter Advice
- avoidance: Remain indoors during its passage; the wind displacement alone can uproot trees. Do not attempt to fly near it.
- defense: Aerial interception is futile. Ground-based dispersal tactics using bright lights or sonic blasts may discourage it from roosting. Protect hearing against its screech.
